Wifey

He hit me with "the last time I checked, you ain't my wife but you'll always be wifey." Yea I was wifey and that held some type of title right? That means I do the cookin the cleanin the holdin you down while I held myself to a certain standard with you to make you look good. You can hold me on this nonexistent pedestal which I had to constantly claw my way over thotty bopper numbers 1,2,3 and 4 just to stay ontop of. But when I come to you sayin "baby I don't like when you do this it's gotta stop," I still get hit with "the last time I checked you ain't my wife and I'm my own man so stop tryin to control me." So you say I'm not your wife which is right, but when push comes to shove you want my life. That means my love my devotion my body my mind, but when I ask you to drop these hoes I'm the one not right. Being wifey is like being the main chick; and if you're the main chick that means you're not the only and if you're not the only there's another. But, we should be so lucky, because he chose us to come back to. We walk around so proud like we just won a never ending battle between hoes vs housewives, but what we really lost the war with our self respect. So while we're feelin some type of way about us not being wife and gettin hit with just being wifey, remember he's not your husband either which is also a blessing.
